About
Builders, tinkerers and shopkeepers.
PureBackend brings together Chris and Kat's love of making things work, from technology for businesses to trading cards, tabletop games and hobby supplies at Boutique Awesome.
What the shop teaches the technology work
Running a store means living with real stock counts, real customers at the counter and real events on the calendar. That keeps our technology thinking grounded. If it doesn’t help on a busy event day, it isn’t finished.
The same curiosity that sorts a card collection or plans a game night is what we bring to a server, a spreadsheet or a stubborn integration: take it apart, understand it, make it better, label it properly.

How we work
Useful beats impressive
We’d rather hand over something small that gets used every day than something big that sits in a folder.
Plain language, always
If we can’t explain a choice simply, we haven’t thought it through. You should know what you’re getting and why.
Leave it labelled
Like a good workbench, a good system has a place for everything. We aim to leave notes someone else could pick up.
Play is part of the work
Cards, dice and half-finished projects on the bench. Curiosity is how we learn new tools, and it keeps the work human.
Sound like a fit?
We’re happy to hear about a problem worth solving.
Tell us what you run and what’s in the way, and we’ll take it from there.
